Introduction and Explanation of the Rolex Explorer2023.10.24
How was the Rolex Explorer Created ?
In 1953, a British expedition that included climbers and explorers Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made the first ascent of the Everest. At that time, ROLEX supported mountaineering activities as a sponsor, and the Explorer was a model announced in honor of the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
The Explorer was characterized by its high durability and simple design, and the initial design remained unchanged for more than half a century. In addition, many ROLEX watches cost over 1 million yen, but there are also models of the Explorer I that cost less than 1 million yen, making it a relatively affordable price range among ROLEX watches.
In 1971, the Explorer II, a higher-end model of the Explorer I, was announced, featuring a 24-hour display function and 100M water resistance.
This time, we would like to introduce some models that are available at our online auction.
